Shungite
Sometimes referred to as a "Wonder Stone" it has been described as the most powerful healing stone ever discovered. It is only found in the area of Lake Onega in Karelia, Russia and is the only mineral to naturally contain "Fullerenes", the discovery of which were amongst the scientific sensations of the 20th Centuy.
It is carbon based and dates back approximately 2 billion years. As this time pre dates the vast forests that formed other carbon based minerals, such as coal and diamonds, it raises questions about how the Shungite deposits originated.
As far back as 1714 it was realised that the waters in the area of Karelia could improve one's health and many sick and injured soldiers were taken to the Marcial Waters Health Resort in that area to recuperate.
